The Digital Media & Learning Competition, created in 2007, was designed to find and to inspire the most novel uses of new media in support of learning. Projects explore how digital technologies are changing the way people learn and participate in daily life. Awards have recognized individuals, for-profit companies, universities, and community organizations using new media to transform learning. |

The Digital Media & Learning Conference is an annual event supported by the MacArthur Foundation and organized by the Digital Media and Learning Research Hub at the University of California, Irvine. The conference is meant to be an inclusive, international and annual gathering of scholars and practitioners in the field, focused on fostering interdisciplinary and participatory dialog and linking theory, empirical study, policy, and practice. |

"The Future of Learning Institutions in a Digital Age" by Cathy N. Davidson and David Theo Goldberg responds to the MacArthur Foundation’s monograph series on Digital Media and Learning in finding solutions to how social and civic institutions can change as a result of, in response to, and in order to promote new kinds of learning in the information age. In collaboration with Duke University and under the auspices of HASTAC, UCHRI has produced forums on "The Future of Learning Institutions in a Digital Age" as well as a monograph co-written, with many collaborators, by Davidson and Goldberg. |
