SECT VI - LOGISTICS
The following information was prepared in order to better prepare you for the weeks' events. If you have a question that is not answered here, please email us.
PRECAUTIONS
Travel Insurance
Those presenters and participants who are University of California (UC) faculty, staff, or students should register for UC Traveler Insurance Coverage. There is a simple form to complete in order to be registered for this broad range of insurance coverage at no additional cost. When you register, you will be given information about your travel destination from WorldCue, a UC Vendor. This will provide you with helpful information about where you are going. For the form and more detailed information, please go to http://www.uctrips-insurance.org/.
For non-UC presenters or participants, please check with your home institution to see whether similar coverage is available. You may also be able to find trip insurance through the travel agency, which booked your trip. There are also many on-line vendors that sell travel insurance.
Credit Card Use
It is recommended that you let your credit card issuer know of your travel plans well in advance so they that will set a travel notification flag on your account. Your credit card could be declined as your issuer may view it as fraudulent use overseas. You may also want to check with your credit card issuer for any foreign transaction fees.
